My name is Suzanne Copperman and I’m the vice president of a conference organizer in New York City. I came to Berlitz to learn Spanish, so that I would be able to communicate with senior managers in my company and colleagues of mine, for whom Spanish is their first language.
I love learning a new language. It’s been great, and it’s been a great mental exercise and it’s given me a great perspective on how we learn.
I think as adults we forget what it is to learn, and how the brain works and enables you to put together concepts and images and verbalize and communicate them.
Learning a new language will change my life in that I will be able to better communicate with all of my associates around the globe, for whom Spanish is the primary language. It will also benefit me as I travel, both for business and for vacation.
Berlitz has helped me understand my world from the perspective of it’s enabled me to broaden my perspective. Not only have I learned the Spanish language through my courses at Berlitz, but I’ve gained a real appreciation for Spanish culture and tradition and customs.
My experience at Berlitz has been extremely positive. Everybody that I’ve dealt with, from the teachers to the administrators, have all been very accommodating and very concerned with putting my needs and my objectives first and foremost.
Berlitz absolutely works. I went to Mexico, after having been a student at Berlitz for about three months, and was in a business situation where everybody really spoke Spanish. Virtually no one spoke English, and I very proudly told everybody I met that I had been a student for only three months and they were all amazed. They couldn’t believe how well I was speaking and my ability to carry a conversation with them, having only been a student for three months.
I would absolutely recommend Berlitz to anybody who wanted to learn a second language.
