Hello. My name is Katia and I’ve been teaching for Berlitz for over 2-1/2 years. Teaching is a very rewarding experience because you watch the student grow. You watch their knowledge grow and you also see them grow as a person. There are many things that are unique about teaching for Berlitz. One of them is that you get to teach a student one-on-one or in very small groups, which is a very personalized approach, and an instructor really gets the chance to get to know the student and approach them, approach their needs and do things exactly as they need them done. Studying a new language is very important for the mind, for the soul, for the heart, whatever it is that you might believe in, because it enriches a person. It makes them more open minded. It makes them more tolerant towards other cultures, and in today’s world, that is exactly what we need. The reason that somebody should study with Berlitz is that here we do have a very personalized approach to all of our students, and classes are fun, and conversational and very unconventional. If you go anywhere else, to a college, to a school, any other program is nothing like this, and the method is also very fast. You can see improvement immediately and that’s actually very true.
One of my very first students for here at Berlitz was a Chinese man learning English, and what he told me was that Berlitz teachers changed students’ lives. And at the time, I was, you know, I was new and I wasn’t sure what he meant, and he explained to me that by teaching him English, I was teaching him to be more communicative, more confident, more – he would have friends, he would have a better job experience, and all of that amounted to a better life, and that is definitely true for all the teachers here at Berlitz. We teach students to communicate better with their outside world. A lot of my students want to come back, and most of them do, and they are always very impressed with the study and with the improvement they have made and with all the things they have learned here.
