My name is Adriana Osorio and I teach Spanish for Berlitz. I’ve been with Berlitz for about over a year. I love, I think the thing that I enjoy the most about teaching is just to see the satisfaction in the student when they get something right. It is priceless. Berlitz has a unique way of teaching the language because their system is different from any other school. The fact that you’re basically bringing the student into full immersion from the word go. From the first day, they are into the language. We don’t speak to them in English. We speak to them in the foreign language that they’re learning, so that is very unique about Berlitz. I think everybody should try to learn a new language because that just opens their horizons. They start seeing life, I think, from a different point of view, and learning about different cultures is very interesting. I think people should try definitely to study a language with Berlitz because this system, the full-immersion system, is, makes your brain work in a different way. It’s not the typical memorizing thing. It’s association. It’s making your own conclusions, and it almost takes you back from, for – it almost takes you back to when you were a kid. The way you learned your mother tongue, that’s the way you’re learning your second language.
In fact, I had a student from Berlitz and when I finished the course with her, she was almost fluent. She had been studying, studying with Berlitz for quite some time, and I had her maybe for the two last courses. She was, I would say, totally fluent and her job improved so much. Her, she, I believe she had to do a lot with customer service, and she was very, very pleased to see the results with her customers because she could communicate much, much better with them and they were very pleased with the service. The students, after they finish their classes, their courses, they want to continue. They want to continue with the language, they want to continue learning more about the culture and they want to continue studying.
